The Seward House was constructed circa 1860 in two campaigns for Henry and Beulah (nee Cooper) Seward. The house, part of an approximately 260-acre property, is a large stone residence with strong Italianate architectural influences. The property was the home of Henry and Beulah’s son, Henry C. Seward, and subsequently Henry’s son, Wills Seward, both of whom were successful gentleman farmers and prominent citizens in Mount Olive.
Connolly & Hickey prepared a National Register Nomination and a Historic Preservation Plan for the Seward House including the barn, and has prepared the design and contract documents for multiphase restoration for the exterior which is on-going.
